Today, I have watched 3 movies, showing Alex Fong and Sheryl Tang and they are all about love.
1) Marriage with a Fool
In this movie, it talked about a Ah Wah & Bo (of course Alex and Sheryl) how they got married. During their first year of marriage, many things happened. Bo was immature, using divorce as a threat to the relationship whenever the couple had quarrels. Ah Wah alway gave in. One day, the relationship turned so bad that Bo wanted quits but pretend to be of good terms in front of her parents-in-law. But paper cannot cover fire. The parents came to know what happened. While Ah Wah was nursing the pain, he went to find his ex-neighbour whom he had lost touch but bumped into each other during his wedding day. There, he had a sexual relationship with this ex-neighbour. In the meantime, Bo met a guy but they had only friendship. Then came a time when Bo changed job to be an airstewardess. What happened to Ah Wah then? Well, his ex-neighbour left him because she found that she was not the one he truly loved. So he wanted to return to his wife. Husband and wife finally patched up. However, they both had a secret keeping from each other. Husband still sent the ex-neighbour messages without the wife's knowledge while wife still sent letters to the man she met when her marriage was at the rocks.
2) L for Love, L for Lies
As the name of this movie suggested, this movie is about how couples lied to each other on the pretext of love. There is a conman, Henry played by Alex Fong. He came to befriend Bo and had a business deal with her. She wanted him to con Kiki, whom she treated as a friend and who stole her boyfriend away from her. Bo believed that Henry would not lie to her even though he was a conman. One day, they had initmate relationship. After that, Bo began to brew soup for him almost everyday. Her friends warned her not to do that because he was a conman afterall. But Bo believed otherwise. Finally, Kiki came to know about the business deal that Bo had with Henry. Kiki wanted Henry to play back at Bo. Henry did and Bo was heartbroken. Soon, Bo's ex-boyfriend returned to Bo and managed to pick up business at his desert shop. Their relationship became better. Actually all these while, Henry was secretly taking revenge for Bo. He set a trap to make Kiki owe lots of money and then he returned the $100 thousand dollars that Bo paid him to con Kiki. He also wanted to turn over a new leaf. However, things are not rosy. His ex-gang friend betrayed him for a kidnapped case. The triad boss sent his men to beat Henry up. Henry was on his way to Bo to express his feelings when this happened. During the fight, Henry was hit on the head by a nail on the wall and his arm was broken by the triad men. With all his strength, Henry walked to see Bo. However, Bo did not notice him. Henry died in the end.
3) Love Is Not All Around
This is yet another movie about lying in love. Da Le played by Alex was a player. He used to like the main actress but the actress had eyes only on Vincent. This was after a few years later. Then he suddenly turned up and the actress began to have mixed feelings. This is because at this point in time, the actress met with another man who is a doctor. He likes her and she also has some feelings for her. One night, both men appeared before the actress and both left without having a night with her. The story then centred around the actress' good friend played by Linda whose husband had an affair. Later, both friends went to a hotel to catch the husband. But instead the actress found that the doctor was holding a lady's hand. She was very sad. Even though he sent her a message, she abruptly told him not to disturb her anymore. As the good friend did not catch the husband, these 2 good friends began to quarrel. They then split up and lost touch. Some months passed. When the good friend met with the actress again, they patched things up and this was when the good friend reminded the actress that certain things must be spoken but not asked. So the good friend decided to find Da Le and expressed her feelings for her. Da Le and this actress then began their relationship. In actual fact, Da Le had been two-timing his girlfriends and whenever the girlfriends met, he would say that the girl was his sister.
Review:
In all these movies, one thing struck out. It seems that in a love relationship, every one is out to cheat each other. They do not seem to really know what to do when catch in a triangular relationship. What's more! They say that they would change but in the end, they are just hiding their true trails. I kinda of wonder whether the director for these movies are just using human's logic to treat relationship or a kind of fantasy that in all relationships, there will tend to be a cheating case. Whatever it is, I seem to keep my distance from such relationship further. If I am in the relationship with someone I love, will that someone betray my trust and cheat on me? In (3), it was said that sometimes what we saw might not be the truth and what we did not see seemed to be the truth. Maybe..... Will I find true love? OR will my love life be an empty white sheet of paper?
